KIMBERLY & ROBERT SUGGEST:
TIP NO. 1
This cleansing solution is formulated with 2% Salicylic Acid + 5% Glycolic Acid to exfoliate both the surface of your skin and your pores. The longer these hydroxy acids are in contact with your skin (before being rinsed off), the more time they have to do their job. So if you’re desiring a deeper pore cleanse because you have an area of congestion or a breakout, leave the solution on while you brush your teeth.
TIP NO. 2
This solution is made with a gentle, coconut derived cleansing agent in lieu of harsh, high foaming cleansing agents such as SLS (sodium laurel sulfate). It does not foam as much as its synthetic counterpart (which may take getting used to if you’re accustomed to a sudsy cleanser) and can lather differently (more or less) day to day based on the air temperature and pH of your skin: distinct characteristics of a cleaner formulation.
Be sure to start with a dry face and neck – and hands that are not too wet, because too much water will dilute the solution making it feel thin and runny. (You can always dampen your fingertips to add water while massaging the solution into your face.)
NOTE: It may take you a few rituals to figure out just the right amount of water to use (and how long to rub your hands together) to create the consistency and lather that’s ideal for you.
TIP NO. 3
It’s important to not rush The Real: Cleanse (spend at least 30-60 seconds massaging the solution into your skin) because your skin demands a clean slate: clean skin is the foundation for healthy skin. And applying your highly concentrated treatment solutions in step No. 3 to skin that is not thoroughly clean will not serve you well, as they will stick to dirt and dead skin instead of being absorbed (causing possible congestion, unnecessary breakouts, and less than stellar results).
TIP NO. 4
Don’t rinse with water that is too hot or too cold; both are way to harsh for your skin.
TIP NO. 5
This is the ideal cleansing solution to use just before shaving since Salicylic and Glycolic Acids help lift beard hairs making for a close, clean shave. It’s also ideal for helping prevent ingrown hairs, minimizing razor bumps, as well as healing existing razor bumps.
